Follow your baby’s development week by week — from the first heartbeat to tiny kicks, Explore personalized tips, insights, and emotional moments along the way.
During the first month, foundational progress begins even before most mothers realize they’re pregnant:
Weeks 1–2 are considered part of your cycle, with conception typically occurring at the end of week 2.
By week 3, the fertilized egg implants into the uterine wall, and the placenta begins to form.
By week 4, the embryo is about the size of a poppy seed (2–3mm), with early development of the neural tube (which becomes the brain and spinal cord), and the heart begins to form as a simple tube.
Though subtle, early signs may already start showing:
Missed Period: Often the first noticeable indicator of pregnancy.
Tender Breasts: Hormonal shifts may cause sensitivity or swelling.
Mood Swings: Changes in hormones may affect emotions or cause fatigue.
Mild Cramps or Spotting: Light implantation spotting is common and usually harmless.
A baby is something you carry inside you for nine months, in your arms for three years, and in your heart until the day you die
Early care focuses on confirmation and healthy preparation:
Your doctor will likely confirm pregnancy with a blood or urine test.
You’ll discuss lifestyle adjustments like avoiding harmful substances and beginning prenatal vitamins (especially folic acid).
A medical history review and guidance on what to expect during early development will also be provided.
